Circuit Switched Data (CSD) is an analogue dial-up technology on GSM networks that has been widely used in the M2M world for a long time. With the advent of more modern IP technology, CSD has now become obsolete. Maintaining this complex network technology no longer fits within the strategy of telecom providers and has therefore been discontinued.

What does this mean for you?
From 1 April 2021, CSD will no longer be supported. Devices in the field that use CSD for data transfer will therefore lose their connection to the network. Replace the existing, obsolete hardware with an IP-based solution.
