New feature: number of call attempts within call lists can be set

In the coming days a new software version (2.4.5) will be sent to all Octalarm-Touch and Octalarm-Touch Pro alarm diallers in the field. Besides the usual fixes, 3 new features have been added. Especially the ability to set the number of call attempts to contacts within call lists makes reaching the first contact in line even easier.

We recommend always installing a software update on all devices in the field.

The new functions at a glance

Set number of call attempts to contacts within call lists

For each call list, the number of call attempts and the time between call attempts to an added contact can be set. The number of call attempts and the time between them applies to everyone in the list. With this new feature, it is no longer necessary to include a particular contact in the same list several times.

Software updates now also logged in the log of the dialler

As of software version 2.4.5, firmware updates are no longer only included in the version history under 'Settings | Software updates', but also logged in the change log (audit trail) of the log in the dialler. This makes the audit trail more complete.

GSM firmware updates

The global telecom networks are constantly changing. With the phasing out of 2G (GSM) and 3G (UMTS) and the roll out of Voice over LTE (VoLTE) - calling over 4G (LTE) - GSM profiles are constantly changing. Because of this, regular GSM firmware updates will be sent to devices in the field. To update these additional GSM|UMTS|VoLTE profiles on the dialler, an 'update' button is added under 'Settings | GSM'. These updates are also logged in the change log (audit trail) of the log in the dialler.

Install software version 2.4.5

The new software version 2.4.5 is being made available for all devices in the field as of today and will be available on every dialler in the course of this week and the beginning of next week. New devices will automatically be delivered with the new software. Please note that the dialler must be connected to the Internet to receive the update.

Users can perform the update themselves as soon as the message "new software is available" appears on the dialler's display. The update process is safe and takes about 15 seconds, which means that the alarm is not interrupted for a long time.

The new functions are included in the manual (version 06-2022).
